27 years have passed since Khojali genocide, committed as a result of Armenian vandalism, which our people will never forget. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people visit the monument to Khojali built in our capital in order to commemorate the victims of this tragedy that terrifies all the world and pray for the souls of hundreds of innocent people who died in that terrible night. As always, "Matanat A" company administration and staff visited the monument to Khojali this year and expressed their anger and sorrow related to unprecedented brutality against the genocide victims and laid wreaths and flowers at the monument.
It should be recalled that Armenian armed detachments, with the support of armoured vehicles and military personnel of the 366th motorized rifle regiment in Khankandi attacked Khojali city on the night of February 25th to 26th, 1992. Before the assault, the city was subjected to fierce shelling from cannons and heavy armoured vehicles starting from the evening of February 25. In such a situation, about 2500 people trapped in the blockade of Armenians were forced to leave the city in the hope of reaching the centre of the nearest Aghdam region. But they did not succeed. Armenian militias and soldiers of motorized rifle regiment, who levelled the city with the ground, brutally massacred civilian population. As a result of the genocide, 613 people were killed, 487 were injured, and 1275 were captured.
