(®) Intellectual, broad-minded, patriotic youth means a strong state. Matanat A Company, which has been based on this principle since its establishment and aims to contribute to the further strengthening of our state, held another such event.
Trainings under the name of “Children’s rights in the language of children” were held for 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade students in a number of secondary schools of Tovuz region located near the line of contact. The trainings were dedicated to the International Children’s Day on June 1.
During the trainings, the works done in the field of protection of children’s rights in Azerbaijan, the relevant legal framework, international conventions on children’s rights to which Azerbaijan is a party were comprehensively explained to the students. Children were explained their rights and ways to protect them in case of violation of these rights, and it was noted that the country’s law enforcement system is always ready to protect them. It was also stated that the rights of children in this region, located near the line of contact with the occupant Armenia, are sometimes violated by our so called neighbour. At such times, international conventions on children’s rights, to which Azerbaijan is a party, also allow children to appeal to international courts in connection with the occupying country. The trainings were held in an atmosphere of interesting discussions. Children found answers to various questions about their rights.
